We are Barts and The London Dental Society!
Our school was opened in 1911- It is one of the oldest dental schools in the UK.
As a dental school we have developed over the past 100 years and are always in the process of continual improvement.
The student dental society was formed in 1912.
Every dental student is a member of the society which is run by a committee of 22 members, each assigned to fulfil a particular duty. The committee is elected by dental students each year and holds two meetings of DENTSOC and SSLC each month.
Our objectives:
- To be a bridge between dental students and staff at the dental school.
- To consider new ideas and maintain a continuous state of evolving and improving.
- Maintain professionalism within the society.
During your five years of study you will learn the finest techniques in dentistry which will equip you to become the best possible kind of dentist!

Ever wondered which uni had the best dental students in London? Well nows your chance to find out!
KCL and Barts are combining for the biggest social this city has ever seen...for the first time!

What a fantastic day the Student Staff Conference was on Friday 11th Jan. Held at the Royal College of Physicians the event was set to impress and impress it did. We had some wonderful group activities and addressed some real concerns.
The Inauguration of the 2012/13 Student/Staff Presidents BLSU Dental Society, Miss Rebecca Iles and Dr Tim Friel was also carried out. Check out the photos below.

It's here!!! The Beer Race has arrived...
Join us once again for one of Barts and The London's best known events. Help us raise lots of money for RAG by visiting each of the drinking establishments down Mile End Road in some ridiculous fancy dress costumes!
Prizes will be given to the team with the best costume and the team who complete the race first.
So get planning those costumes and start collecting all those vital cardboard boxes etc which you may need to make yours the best costume! We are hoping for some outrageous costumes this year, so get your thinking caps on and lets see who comes up with the most original ideas!!!
Registration will be £6 and all proceeds will go to RAG.
We look forward to seeing you there :)

What a fantastic night the Christmas Party was!
The staff and commitee enjoye a delishous dinner before the party really kicked off in Yager Bar.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves with some quoting it was the best one in recent years! Great Stuff! Thanks to everyone that came and all those wonderful commitee memebers that made the night run smoothly.
The Freshers & The GEPs have arrived!! We have been having an brilliant time meeting you all and hope that you are settling in nicely. The Freshers Icebreaker was lots of fun (check out previous events page) and we've got lots of brand new DentSoc members. 30/9/12
The infamous christmas party is back! Come celebrate the end of term and send the year out with a bang. BL medics, dentists and guests all welcome!

DentSoc would like to wish all students with upcoming exams the best of luck over the next few weeks. YOU CAN DO IT! Post-exam celebrations at the Dental Graduation Ball on the 1st of June at the Royal Horseguards. It's sure to be a beautiful night thanks to our lovely Grad Committee! Welcome back to all students and staff after a well deserved christmas break. Hope you all have had some rest and relaxation, eaten plenty of mince pies and watched lots of rubbish telly!

DentSoc would like to wish the Dental School a very HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY!! We were lucky enough to have been invited to the Centenary Gala at The Royal Courts of Justice. It was a beautiful fun filled evening and we'd like to say thank you for such a great time! We hope that everyone enjoyed their day off for the celebrations!
We'd also like to take the opportunity to wish the 3rd, 4th and 5th years lots of luck for their upcoming exams. There will be many festivities post-exams, so keep an eye out and we'll see you on the other side!!

Merry Xmas and a very Happy New Year from everyone in DentSoc. Hope you all came down to celebrate the end of an amazing term with us at our annual Dental Christmas Party at Gilt City Bar in Fenchurch St. We had a great time sampling our specially made cocktails, love potions and of course the Vodka Luge!!
