Welcome
to Barts & The London Dental Society!
How we started:
DENTSOC is one of the oldest societies at Barts
and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. It was formed since
the dental school was formed and has been serving dental students
effectively ever since.
Who we are:
Every dental student is a member of the Society
which is run by a committee of 20 members, each assigned to fulfil a
particular duty. The committee is elected by dental students each
year and holds two meetings of DENTSOC and SSAC each month. The
primary objective of the society is to be a bridge between dental
students and staff at the Dental School. Barts Dental Society is
always keen to consider new ideas and is in a continuous state of
evolving and getting better. Professionalism is the main requirement
for the members of this society. Previous successes of this society
form a strong foundation for future victories.
What we do:
We support students in both their educational and
social lives to give them the best experience possible of their time
here at the dental school. As well as helping solve the problems of
individual students we organise social events for everyone
throughout the year. We are constantly in close touch with students
to break down any barrier that may exist between students and their
school life, which is why we believe we are the friendliest dental
school in the country.
How you can contribute:
Without the Dental School students this society
would not exist, which is why all dental students are more than
welcome to take a full part in this valuable community. As this
society represents ALL dental students at Barts and The London, it
is not surprising that the election of committee members is taken
very seriously. Each year there are elections to choose the best
candidates for this committee and it is hoped that the elected
members will reflect the needs of the students at this Dental
School. Everyone (with or without previous committee experience) can
offer themselves for election, so find out more about our society
and get involved.
