Football Tournament

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come once again for the most
prestigious, most exhilarating tournament to be held for our
beautiful game.
No! not the FA cup, not even the Champions league, but the BARTS
AND THE LONDON DENTAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT!!!!!
…….More battles than kengis……more walls than china…..more kicks
than karate…….more goals than any net can hold…….This is what we
all have been waiting for.
On the 25th of November, get ready to revel in a sea of ooh’s
and aah’s, as the finest players to grace the pitch go head to
head, battling for the sweet taste of glory.
To be part of this magic, submit your teams to any of the social
secretaries, and post them up on the wall by FRIDAY THE 2OTH NOV
the latest. All are welcome to come and spectate, with goody
bags being given to everyone. REMEMBER THERE ARE LIMITED SPACES
SO GET YOUR TEAMS IN ASAP
TEAM RULES
• Teams can be made up of males and females
• Each team is only allowed 2 non dentists
• A team of 8 players (minimum 6) (5 players and 3 subs) must be
submitted by the LATEST THIS FRIDAY THE 20TH
• With each team paying £5 PER PERSON
GAME RULES
1. Basic rules of football apply. i.e handball, penalties etc.
2. Sliding tackles are forbidden and will result in a RED CARD
3. ZERO TOLERANCE for fouling. Repeated fouls/dangerous fouls
will result in a yellow card. 2 yellow cards will result in a
RED CARD. Teams are not allowed to substitute a red carded
player (i.e. with a sub on the bench).Insulting referees will
also result in a straight RED CARD. Any players not obeying the
rules of the referee (i.e. refusing to leave the pitch) will
result in the suspension of his team from the tournament.
4. A team receiving 3 red cards in a match will be regarded as
lost with 3-0 (Unless the winning team is winning by a bigger
margin).
5. Penalty Area
Players with the exception of the goalkeeper are not allowed to
enter the D area (the penalty area). Goalkeepers are not allowed
to come out from the D area.
"Punishment for Infringement"
(i) by the attack - a direct free kick at a point outside the
penalty area nearest to where the infringement occurred.
(ii) by the defence - a penalty kick.
(iii) goalkeeper coming out to clear a ball - a penalty kick.
6. 6' feet space must be given for any direct/indirect free
kicks.
7. Goalkeeper timewasting/keeping the ball:
After holding the ball the goalkeeper must immediately return
the ball into play within 10 seconds.
"Punishment for Infringement "
An indirect free kick shall be taken by a player of the opposing
team from a point 6’ feet outside the penalty area nearest to
where the infringement occurred.
8. Captains are responsible for the actions of their team mates.
Disagreements must be communicated by the captains only.
Referees only talk to captains.
9. Disrespecting referees or Tournament organisers will result
in suspnsion. The whole team will be suspended from the
tournament and the opposition teams will be awarded a 3-0
victory.
10. Troublemakers will be reported to the School and the Dean
will be informed of any misbehaviour from any players.
