Our school was opened in 1911- It is one of the oldest dental schools in the UK.
As a dental school we have developed over the past 100 years and are always in the process of continual improvement.
The student dental society was formed in 1912.
Every dental student is a member of the society which is run by a committee of 22 members, each assigned to fulfil a particular duty. The committee is elected by dental students each year and holds two meetings of DENTSOC and SSLC each month.
Our objectives:
- To be a bridge between dental students and staff at the dental school.
- To consider new ideas and maintain a continuous state of evolving and improving.
- Maintain professionalism within the society.
During your five years of study you will learn the finest techniques in dentistry which will equip you to become the best possible kind of dentist!
Hi! I’m Jonathan and I’m the DQAC rep.
DQAC is the Dental Education Quality Assurance Committee and is responsible for the general quality of the education provided at the dental school, rather than more specific clinical or academic matters covered by DentSoc reps. The committee is mainly made up of senior staff but does provide a forum for students to give feedback on the quality of the teaching here, so if you have any issues you feel need to be raised then feel free to contact me via your DentSoc year reps.
This year I hope to improve communication between DEQAC and DentSoc and hope to be approachable should anyone have concerns over the teaching quality here.
