We are Barts and The London Dental Society!
Our school was opened in 1911- It is one of the oldest dental schools in the UK.
As a dental school we have developed over the past 100 years and are always in the process of continual improvement.
The student dental society was formed in 1912.
Every dental student is a member of the society which is run by a committee of 22 members, each assigned to fulfil a particular duty. The committee is elected by dental students each year and holds two meetings of DENTSOC and SSLC each month.
Our objectives:
- To be a bridge between dental students and staff at the dental school.
- To consider new ideas and maintain a continuous state of evolving and improving.
- Maintain professionalism within the society.
During your five years of study you will learn the finest techniques in dentistry which will equip you to become the best possible kind of dentist!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Barts and The London DentSoc..........and now for the fun part!!
Introducing the social secretaries: Jon, Ivan and Becky! We all know how unbelievably fun lectures are.....but when you fancy a change of scene......that's where we come in!! We will be organising all the amazing social events throughout the year. We want you to have a fantastic year, and we will try our hardest to make sure you enjoy both the academic and social sides of dental school to the full.
From bowling trips to trade fayres, student-staff quizzes to the annual dental dinner and legendary beer race, there really will be something for everyone. We aim to provide support to any who need it.
We know you have a great year ahead of you, and look forward to meeting you all in September :)
