Our school was opened in 1911- It is one of the oldest dental schools in the UK.
As a dental school we have developed over the past 100 years and are always in the process of continual improvement.
The student dental society was formed in 1912.
Every dental student is a member of the society which is run by a committee of 22 members, each assigned to fulfil a particular duty. The committee is elected by dental students each year and holds two meetings of DENTSOC and SSLC each month.
Our objectives:
- To be a bridge between dental students and staff at the dental school.
- To consider new ideas and maintain a continuous state of evolving and improving.
- Maintain professionalism within the society.
During your five years of study you will learn the finest techniques in dentistry which will equip you to become the best possible kind of dentist!
Hi, I’m Zara and I’m the DentSoc Webmaster/Media Officer.
My main role as webmaster is to keep this website up to date for you, so that everyone knows what is going on in the Dental School. The DentSoc website is great source of information. There's lots of links to online educational resources, as well as ways to conact our sponsors and also just to have a look at funny photos from the events that we've held. This year I hope to promote the use of the site and build upon it using the comments and suggestions from current visitors.
As Media Officer, I will be doing the creative design to promote DentSoc and our Dental School using all the different types of media that we have available to us. The main thing that you'll see will be our event posters that'll be plastered all over the Dental Hospital walls! My aim is to reflect our amazingness as a school in promotions to both our students, sponsors and the wider world.
